The Animals

The Animals is an app for children that provides in-depth knowledge of the anatomy of a wide variety of vertebrates, including birds, mammals, reptiles and more. You can see everything inside each of them, including names and detailed drawings. The animals also move so you can see how they interact with the world around them.

Learn about their anatomy

There are several animals available in The Animals as examples of their species. There is a monkey, a pink dolphin, a jaguar, a blue frog, a parrot, a snake and an eel. For each animal there are options at the bottom of the screen to see the different parts of their bodies, including their external parts, muscular system, skeleton, digestive system, nervous system, circulatory system and pulmonary system.

Interact with the animal to see what each part does

When you choose a system, you can see the name of each part in that system. In addition, some have a menu on the left where you can drag objects to see how each system works. For example, in the digestive system you can drag food to see how it is digested and how it moves through the animal's nervous system. For the nervous system, you can try pricking the animal with a needle or tickling it with a feather. You can also see how the reproductive system of these animals works by viewing the placenta and fetus(es).
